On the half way among the most beautiful and
fascinating cities in Tuscany, Florence and Siena, through a hilly
route between vineyards and olive-groves, absorbed in the greenery
of the Mediterranean scrub and the chestnut trees, at 698 meters
altitude, on the tallest hills of the "Chianti Classico"
there is this enchanting place called once Rifugium.
It offers inside its secular's boundaries counting 600 years the
history of a convent, of a church, and of a fascinating romantic
residence. Nowadays the Rifugium has been, carefully restructured
and introduces the guest in a classical Tuscany atmosphere. The
8 apartments are independent and different in the size, provided
with all comforts. Every single room is unique, due to the choice
of the furniture carefully selected down to the last detail. Special
attention has been given to the huge beds, with natural made bedsteads
and mattresses. The bathrooms are very comfortable, with little
birds painted on the wall: like the chaffinch, the woodpecker,
the robin, the pipit, the long tiled tit, the cuckoo, and the
melodious warbler greeting the guests with a colourful serenity.
To say the truth at the Rifugium you won't feel like doing something;
at least you will let slip your body in the water of the beautiful
swimming pool or in the spa or regenerate your mind by admiring
the wonderful landscape from the highest point, offered by the
marvellous world of the "Chianti Classico".
Who loves to have a walk does not have to be embarrassed by choosing
a path, if you want you can walk trough the woods, looking for
mushrooms, fruits and wild asparaguses.
Near the Rifugium, it is also possible to fish in a small private
lake.
For all fitness lovers there is an equipped mountain track through
a panoramic park of chestnut trees.
Outside you will find a wide car park reserved to the guests and
a green playground area for the children.
